Music Scholarships and Music Education for Musicians

OK, this is what I'm doing, I am compiling a lot of information on music scholarships and as soon as I can I will transfer the files over to this Blog. I am putting the information in step by step directions so you will know exactly what to do. Also, if you have any experience in this arena at all or advice, just post it here, we would all appreciate it.

There seems to be an awful lot of confusion these days about what is the best way to get music scholarships for students. I am currently helping my students get scholarships and I will be posting what steps we took to get them the financial aid that they need.

So far, the first steps that we have taken have been to get educated about the proccess. So, we went down to the local public library and checked out every book that they had on the subject. There were so many different types of books that it became very confusing right off the bat. However, in each text, there was something to retain and understand so, to say that getting this information was a waste of time would be wrong.

The one thing that is important to remember is that if you do not take some sort of decisive action, then you will go nowhere fast. Typically, you should start your college scholarship search in your junior year of high school or even sooner. Do not procrastinate, because if you are rewarded money to go to a college or university, then you need to start early to begin the qualification proccess.

You must also beccome familiar with the various types of scholarships and which ones will be important to you.

As I am writing this Blog on scholarships, any experience you might have as an educator, counselor, or student that relates to scholarships would be greatly appreciated. Nothing beats personal experiences in a particular area and it would be great hearing from someone that has dealt with the proccess of obtaining a scholarship.
